Intro to Latin Dance I:
This course introduces students to the most popular styles of Latin Dance including Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.
Intro to Latin Dance II:
The second part of this introduction builds on the Level I Salsa curriculum and adds two other popular Latin Dances - Rueda de Casino & Cha-cha.
Intro to Rueda de Casino:
The Cuban Salsa "Wheel" as in the Movie Dance With Me, starring Vanessa Williams and Chayanne. This "game" is "played" with at least two couples but the more the better! Traditional to Cuba, this dance has gained popularity in the U.S. The steps learned in this course are also used "sin Rueda" (without a group) as you would normally dance at a club. This is a fun, exciting and easy way to learn Salsa turn patterns! Be one of the first in the area to learn this unique style of Salsa!
Ladies' Latin Style & Technique:
A great way to define YOUR style! Latin Motion, Feminine Arm Styling, Turning, and overall body movement are addressed in detail. This class will help you in increasing your confidence on the dance floor.
Salsa ~ Advanced Beginner:
These classes cover Partnering, Shines/ Freestyle, Club Dancing Techniques, Turn Patterns, and more! The SALSAlort© style is based on a combination of Classic, New York, Miami, Cuban, & Modern styles of Salsa, allowing for a unique and well rounded dance experience.
PREREQUISITE: Intro to Latin Dance I & II or Lady's Style & Technique, or approval from Director.
Salsa ~ Intermediate:
These courses concentrate on Turn Patterns and expanded combinations, Shines/Freestyle, and more! Students are encouraged to contribute to the styling and technical aspects of combinations. Turn Patterns are from a variety of Salsa styles.
PREREQUISITE: Salsa Level 1 or approval from Director.
Man's Latin Style & Technique:
Learn effective leading techniques as well as Latin Motion, Masculine Arm Styling, Turning, and overall body movement in detail. This class will help you in increasing your confidence on the dance floor.
Private Classes:
Available by appointment, Private sessions allow you and your instructor to target specific areas and goals.
Workshops:
New York style Salsa (on "2"), Bachata, Cuban Turn Patterns, Miami Casino style Salsa, Rueda de Casino, and other workshops will be held throughout the year. Please check this site periodically for upcoming dates. |
